What do you do at Brass?

At Brass, I handle account management. So I am the glue wink. Basically, I communicate the wants and needs of our clients/customers back to the company. I monitor accounts that have been opened with us to see how they are faring and I manage their customer experience.

What does a typical day for you at work look like?

I’m up at 7am most days (trying to move this to 6 am) . I start my work day by 8am, I get to my WFH setup, I make a to do list of the things I want to get done that day, I reply to emails, check in with my team etc. I take notes of the accounts opened that day, I follow up with older accounts, I report issues they maybe having, create tickets to sort that for them, attend meetings, take/make phone calls, read articles. Anytime between 1 and 3 pm I try to take a lunch break, during this time, I have lunch, watch something, scroll on social media. I get back work and I usually round up at 6pm. After that I just chill, looking to incorporate evening walks.

What is your favourite thing about working at Brass?

My favourite thing about working at Brass is the people, I have met really amazing and thoughtful people at Brass. It feels nice to work at a place where people care about you beyond the work that you do.

Did you always want to be an account manager?

Actually, I wouldn’t say I wanted to be an account manager right off the bat but it was on my list of possible career options.

When you are not working, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy going out, brunch, the beach, Korean dramas, soap making, Netflix and chilling , games nights, cocktail hunting, scrolling on twitter, taking pictures of my dog, travelling, reading, pinterest’ing’ if that’s a word LOL.

What is the one thing you have learnt at Brass that has helped you with your growth?

The importance of ownership. At Brass, ownership is a big thing, it has taught me to be more accountable and it has emphasised the importance of working for the greater good of the company .

What’s the most exciting thing you are working on now?

In my team, we are looking at starting a business community for the users on brass so I am looking forward to see how that pans out.

How would you describe what you do to a five year old?

Lol, well “I help my company to keep their friends (clients) happy.”

Which of Brass’s pillar of culture do you resonate with and why?

It has to be respect, why? I am big on everyone treating other people how they would like to be treated. Nigerians tend to fall short in this aspect, according respect by age, money, looks etc and that’s not how I am trying to be. If you disrespect me sha be ready to chop disrespect back, sorry I don’t make the rules.
